My rates are not low. I'm thankful that my work seems to be worth what I charge.


General Writing and Editorial
As I noted on the home page, I have written and edited for one U.S. President, two U.S. Attorneys General, major corporations, small businesses, international non-profit organizations, leading associations, prominent Evangelicals, and officials who went on to become State Governors and, in one case, the head of Interpol. 

I have a broad range of interests and can work in many writing styles and voices. If you are trying to make an impact and need an editor or writer, please get in touch. Whether your goal is an article, essay, blog post, speech, marketing hook, or script, and whether you're interested in websites, blogs, e-books, print-on-demand, traditional publishing, or some other area, I can probably help. Rates will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Books and Larger Writing Projects
I offer various levels of advice and editorial assistance with respect to books and larger writing projects. These range from a review and opinion, to more lengthy comments and observations, to various degrees of planning and restructuring, to selective editing, to a full-scale overhaul and rewrite. 

I have also had considerable success with the "directed rewrite." In such cases, I guide the author through the revision process, offering suggestions of a depth and specificity that maximize his or her ability to self-edit.

At the low end, $200 would be about the minimum I would charge, for example, to review an article. For a book of 50,000 words that needs restructuring and substantive editing, the high end may require quite a bit of time and run into five figures. Obviously, there are many possibilities in between. 

Project Management
I have close to 20 years worth of experience managing publishing projects, print and digital, usually where several people have to be pulled together to make something happen. If your need involves not merely getting the words right, but making sure the final project looks great and is finished on time, I may be able to help. Rates will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
